The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of
the eleventh month marks the signing of the Armistice, on 11th November
1918. Remembrance Day is also known as Poppy Day, because it is
traditional to wear an artificial poppy.
Remembrance Day is held on 11th November and is a special day set aside
for remembering all of the men and women who were killed during the two
World Wars and other conflicts.
To mark this special day the Brownies made
their own poppies. The girls also had word searches and
pictures to colour when they had finished.
On the 13th November
2011, 1st Cranwell (RAF) Brownies were invited to join Station
personnel at their service of Remembrance.
